These are pictures of our trip to Jockey Plaza. To go back home we had to walk over top of the express way and catch the bus on the other side of the freeway.
These guys were dancing and entertaining the kids in the mall.
On Friday night President and sister Elmer ask us to go do dinner with them. We went to San Borja to a very nice Italian restaurant. Another couple met us there, the Drakes who are the medical doctor for all of Peru missions and Bolivia. We had a very enjoyable evening.
There are hundreds and hundreds of little vendors selling their wares from clothing, dolls, purses, jewelry etc. We didn't buy anything but got a good idea of some of the things that they have.
One of many highways in Lima. This is Avenida Arequipa that runs north and south. Maybe 9-10 blocks from our apartment. During rush hour this road will be packed.
Another highway running thru Lima.
This is a look of San Isidro where we live and the mission office.
Miraflores from the air
On our P-day we went to Miraflores and ate at a fantastic restaurant just above the cliff. The tall building in the background is the Marriott hotel. The name of the restaurant was Mangos. It was buffet.
Looking down about 500-600 feet from the Mangos restaurant to the ocean
We happened to be at the Plaza de Armas when they had the changing of the guards. They are coming out from the courtyard of the Presidential Palace.
This is the Presidential Palace. The president of Peru lives here. Actually the First Lady is very supportive to our church. She has met with Pres. Hinckley and the First Presidency, toured Welfare Square and attended General Conference.
This is the Marriott hotel across the street from the Mangos restaurant that we ate at Saturday. There are numerous restaurants and little stores.
Highway along ocean
This road goes along the ocean to Callao

South America Area Northwest offices
We went to the area offices to pick up the Lambs and then we went to do the paper work to get our Carnets.
The grounds in front of the Area Office. Just behind the Area offices is the MTC.
Conference room at MTC
This is where the missionaries meet as a group. At the MTC in Provo there are about 2500 missionaries at any one given time. Here in Lima the MTC holds a maximum of about 500.
All over the city they advertized putting a design in the grass along side of the road. This happens to be a radio station.
Outside the MTC in the center area.
The MTC and the Area office is right at the foothills of the Andes Mountains.
You can see the diferent buildings where the missionaries live and have their classes
This is where we attend church each week. This chapel was constructed just as I was ready to leave Peru in 1963. It is the second oldest chapel in Peru
